The 2025 Bond of the 1990s 1oz Gold Coin is the fourth release in The Royal Mint’s Six Decades of 007 bullion coin series, celebrating the enduring legacy of one of Britain’s most iconic cultural figures, James Bond.
First imagined by Ian Fleming in 1953, James Bond became a global phenomenon following his cinematic debut in 1962. Across six decades, the legendary MI6 agent has continued to evolve, captivating audiences worldwide through a succession of distinctive portrayals.
This coin pays tribute to the Bond films of the 1990s, an era that marked the debut of Pierce Brosnan as 007. His interpretation introduced a new generation to Bond, blending effortless sophistication with high intensity action in films such as GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough. The design features the Q Branch speedboat, famously seen in The World Is Not Enough, symbolising the advanced technology and bold energy that defined this modern chapter of the Bond franchise
