The Royal Dragon is the ninth release in The Royal Tudor Beasts Collection, inspired by the ten stone statues that stand guard along the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. These dynastic protectors were commissioned by Henry VIII to mark the arrival of his third wife, Jane Seymour.
Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse features a bespoke, contemporary interpretation of the legendary Celtic beast, an enduring symbol of power, courage and national identity. Set against a background that evokes the grandeur of the Tudor period, the design also incorporates subtle surface animation, adding visual appeal and an additional layer of security.
The obverse features the official coinage portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Martin Jennings.
Struck in 1oz of 999.9 fine gold to bullion standard, each coin is individually presented in a single-coin capsule. As UK legal tender, it is exempt from Capital Gains Tax, making it an attractive proposition for investors and collectors alike.
